WENATCHEE — Alec Jones of the Mission Ridge Ski Team notched his second straight Eigenvector Northwest Cup Finals win on Saturday, capturing the men's slalom behind a commanding performance.
Jones, 19, had a cumulative time of 1 minute, 26.43 seconds for his two runs at Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort. Teammate Danny O'Neal, 19, secured second place with a time of 1:30.15. Third was Stevens Pass' Carson Lyon in 1:31.25.MRST's Frederick Williams (7th) and Max Tobler (11th) also finished in the top 20.For Williams, 17, it was his best result of the season. He was 16th at an FIS race at Mission Ridge in mid-December.In the women's giant slalom, Mission Ridge's Lindsay Ahmann, 17, with a time of 2:15.38, took second behind winner Antoinette Tansley, 16, of the Skykomish Ski Team (2:14.42). Crystal Mountain's Katie Hensien was third in 2:15.43.MRST's Gracie Struthers, 16, also had a good day, coming in seventh.Ahmann and Struthers both moved up after their first runs — Ahmann from fourth to second and Struthers from 11th to seventh.The Northwest Cup Finals wrap up Sunday with a men's giant slalom and a women's slalom.
